Description

Description:

The product flows through the machine, wherein a membrane separates the molecules (permeate) from the rest of the product (retentate). The cut-off (cutoff) of the membrane determines the size of the particles to be separated. The operator can adjust the feed rate, temperature, ratio and the pressures in the system. The operator can choose the filter mode (batch or continuous). Microfiltration and ultrafiltration use of low pressures and the salt and sugar molecules are not retained by the membrane (they are found in the permeate), while proteins are typically contained in the retentate. Nanofiltration and reverse osmosis (high pressure) allow only water and some minerals, while almost all molecules are retained and are found in the retentate.

This device has three filtration loops, holding up two spiral wound membranes each. The loop # 3 may also be modified to allow the use of a ceramic membrane permeability gradient (GP) 0.1 .mu.m. The supply tank has a capacity of about 235 Liters.

Applications: Dairy various liquid.
